For the past nine years, I’ve been rooted in Boston’s gardening and design community, beginning my career as a horticulturalist at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University. From there, I honed my craft working with fine gardening and design teams before finding my passion in designing small, intimate outdoor spaces.

I started my own garden and floral design company to bring a more personal, approachable experience to clients—creating spaces that feel intentional, beautiful, and uniquely yours, without the barrier of high-end pricing.

"Vail" means to take off one's hat, and bow in respect to the space they're in, and I believe that we should all appreciate the curated environment around us.

Every garden is unique, and each design is tailored to the specific conditions of your space. I consider soil health, light, drainage, and your specific microclimate alongside your personal aesthetic and how you want to use the space. The result is a thoughtful design that feels natural to the environment while reflecting your vision for the garden.
Installation & Maintanence
Sourcing Material
Through relationships with trusted wholesale growers and nurseries, I’m able to source a wide range of high-quality plant material suited to your garden’s specific conditions. For larger installations, I can also recommend experienced and reputable landscape installation teams to ensure the design is carried out with care and attention to detail, while I remain focused on the design vision.
Boutique Service
To ensure every project receives the attention it deserves, I work with a limited number of clients each season. This allows me to personally oversee every stage of the process—from initial design through installation and ongoing care—while remaining readily available to meet, answer questions, and refine the vision along the way.

Seasonal containers offer an opportunity to introduce color, structure, and movement throughout the year. I design and install thoughtfully composed container plantings that complement the character of your home and evolve with the seasons. From fresh spring arrangements and lush summer plantings to richly textured autumn displays and winter containers filled with evergreen material, each composition is curated to create lasting visual interest and thrive in its setting.
